Bihar State Wetland Authority

Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change (MoEFCC), Government of India issued Wetlands (Conservation and Management) Rules 2017 for integrated wetland management. Government of Bihar constituted the Bihar Wetland Development Authority (BWDA).

The following works will be performed by the State Wetland Authority

  • Policy formulation for wetland conservation.
  • Identification of wetlands and Ramsar sites.
  • Implementation of Wetland Rules 2017.
  • Review and recommendation of wetland documents.
  • Boundary dispute resolution.
  • Coordination with national/international agencies.
  • Other works under Wetland Rules 2017.
